We tell any customer that is buying a tea kettle to also buy one of these scale collectors. You leave it in your kettle as you are boiling water and the scale will deposit itself as the water boils. Made from fine stainless steel wire, the Kettle Scale Collector us hygenic and provides a very large surface area upon which the scale collects. This speeds up boiling time thereby reducing energy costs and increasing the life of the element because less scale is deposited.
It's safe for all kettles, including electric.
To Clean: Hold the collector under cold running water. Gently squeeze out the deposits. Replace in the kettle.
