Most of us Vermonters don't have garbage disposals - we have compost buckets. And when we are peeling carrots or cukes, the peels go into a corner sink strainer until we are ready to dump all the peelings, coffee grinds and lettuce cores into the compost bin. This one is particularly nice because it drains all the fluids out, made of stainless steel, and is dishwasher safe.
